Brain Compatible Teaching Module Two Assessment Toolbox
This portfolio contains an Assessment Toolbox for a module in an online course, Brain Compatible Teaching to Engage Student Learning in the 21st Century. This course is a professional development course for educators. Four learning objectives were created for this module about theories of motivation and engagement. These objectives align with Bloom's Taxonomy of Cognitive Domain. Activities are linked to each objective, and assessment tools that complement each objective are described and analyzed. These tools are authentic assessment tools, which are "A form of assessment in which students are asked to perform real-world tasks that demonstrate meaningful application of essential knowledge and skills" (Mueller, 2010). The issues of plagiarism prevention, diversity, authenticity, and student-centered learning are also addressed.
