Feedback is an essential element of an online course. According to Wiggins, "helpful feedback is goal-referenced; tangible and transparent; actionable; user-friendly (specific and personalized); timely; ongoing; and consistent." Throughout the course I evaluated performance by crafting evaluation comments for each student weekly. I provided constructive and supportive feedback, making sure to recognize strong performance and effort, and achievement of goals. When goals were not met, I offered detailed suggestions for improvement. A sampling of some of my evaluation comments is attached below.
